Concussion Information

A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head that can change the way the brain normally works. Concussions also can occur from a blow to the body that causes the heard to move rapidly back and forth. Even a "ding," "getting your bell rung," or what seems to be a mild bump or blow to the head can be serious.

With more information becoming available about the frequency and recommended treatment of concussions, especially in youth sports, we have posted additional information regarding concussions at the bottom of this page.

If you have any questions please call your school's Health Office.
