Special Education services for students attending a nonpublic school Grades K-5

In accordance with NYS State Regulations, the Auburn Enlarged City School District provides Special Education services to the nonpublic schools within its boundaries.  Each year, the district consults with the nonpublic schools, focusing on the Child Find process, the provision of services and meeting protocols.

Special Education services are determined and provided by the public school district where the nonpublic school is located.  As the providing district, the Auburn Enlarged City School District will offer programming services recommended by the Committee on Special Education to Students with Disabilities within the nonpublic schools.

The Auburn Enlarged City School District provides the full continuum of Special Education services within the 5 elementary buildings.  Students in nonpublic schools will be transported to the nearest building with available space that provides the services recommended by the Committee on Special Education.  Related Services (Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech/Language Therapy) are contracted out and are provided either in person or virtually.

Questions regarding the provision of services to Students with Disabilities in the nonpublic schools can be directed to the Office of Special Education at 315-255-8833.

The Auburn Enlarged City School District is committed to working together with all stakeholders to ensure that all students receive their services and ensure success for all learners.
