Auburn Schools to wear and share orange on Oct. 20 to celebrate Unity Day

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and Wednesday, October 20, is Unity Day. All Auburn Enlarged City School District students, employees, and community members, except those at Seward Elementary, are encouraged to celebrate and wear orange that day to show unity for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Seward Elementary will celebrate and wear orange on Thursday, October 21.

Unity Day is an event created by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center to come together in one giant orange message of hope and support. The goal of the day is to bring together youth, parents, educators, businesses, and community members across the nation to emphasize the message that bullying is not acceptable and that all students deserve to be safe in school, online, and in the community. Wearing and sharing the color orange is a tangible representation of the supportive, universal message that our society wants to prevent bullying and is united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
