Renowned trumpet player to conduct clinics, perform at AHS

The Auburn Music Boosters are thrilled to announce that after last year’s successful Electrify Your Symphony program, we have secured the renowned trumpet player, Al Chez, to conduct exclusive music clinics for our students and perform a live concert with his band, The Brothers of Funk Big Band.

Al Chez, known for his incredible talent and extensive experience, has been the trumpeter for the CBS Orchestra on "The Late Show with David Letterman" and has collaborated with musical icons such as Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, and Eric Clapton. As a Yamaha teaching artist he has conducted hundreds of clinics at schools around the country where his easy-going attitude and out-of-this-world trumpet playing is both inspiring and motivational to the students.

The Brothers of Funk Big Band is a high energy band, (which features sisters too) that averages 15 amazing talented cats from the NY area, as well as special players sitting in at any given gig.

The student clinic is scheduled for Jan. 26, featuring a day of student music clinics led by Al Chez, providing our young musicians from the high school and junior high jazz bands with a unique opportunity to learn from a master in the field. 

The next day, at 7 p.m. Jan. 27, Al Chez and The Brothers of Funk Big Band will take the stage at Auburn High School for a concert that promises to be an unforgettable experience for the Auburn community. Our AHS Jazz Band and Select Ensemble Choir students will have the opportunity to be the opening acts for professional musicians. The concert is open to the public and all proceeds will benefit music education in Auburn Enlarged City Schools.
