Big D’s provides supplemental transportation service to Auburn school district

(Auburn, NY – September 21, 2018) – As many parents and guardians of students in the Auburn Enlarged City School District are aware, the school district has been experiencing some transportation issues with its contracted transportation provider, First Student, due to a shortage of bus drivers. The district has been working diligently with First Student’s regional manager to resolve the issues.

In the meantime, the school district has an obligation to transport students to and from school, as well as to and from extracurricular events, so the district had to find alternative transportation methods that would help meet their obligation.

The district contacted Auburn Limousine, Inc., also known as Big D’s Limos, regarding the transportation issues, and Big D’s was quick to offer assistance. A plan was divulged where Big D’s agreed to transport the district’s student athletes to away games via charter buses and limousines at the same contracted rate the district has with First Student.

“I would like to sincerely thank Big D’s for helping the Auburn school district with transporting students to and from athletic events,” said Jeff Pirozzolo, Superintendent of Schools. “Their generosity and understanding of our predicament is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank parents and guardians of Auburn students for their patience as we work through these transportation issues.”

Big D’s has agreed provide this service to the district for away games until First Student is able to hire additional drivers.
