2018 School Supply Giveaway scheduled for August 18
(Auburn, NY – August 10, 2018) – Some Auburn students will be a little more prepared for the upcoming school year thanks to the Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP and Welch Allyn.
The Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP and Welch Allyn both held school supply drives for Auburn schools this month; the NAACP held its annual “Stuff the Bus” drive on August 4, 2018, and Welch Allyn is holding an ongoing drive at its Skaneateles campus throughout the month of August. Welch Allyn’s drive is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative where they are committed to making contributions to local communities where they can make a difference.
The Auburn School District and the Auburn/Cayuga Branch of the NAACP will host its annual “Back to School/Stay in School” School Supply Giveaway to distribute the supplies collected during the drive. The giveaway will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 18, at Genesee Elementary School, 244 Genesee Street, Auburn.
“We are so fortunate to have had the Cayuga Branch of the NAACP and Welch Allyn both coordinate school supply drives to support Auburn students and families,” said Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, Camille Johnson. “We greatly appreciate their continued commitment and support.”
