Excellence Recognized at Auburn High School’s Top Ten Dinner and Award Ceremony

(March 1, 2019) - On February 28, Auburn High School celebrated the outstanding academic achievements of the ten students in the Class of 2019 with the highest four-year grade point averages. Together with their families and school personnel, the students were honored for their commitment to excellence at a dinner banquet at Highland Park Golf Club.

The Auburn Enlarged City School District is extremely proud of the extraordinary academic success of these students. Their combined four-year academic average is 99%, and their average SAT score is 1420. Each one of them has earned at least a full year of college credits already by challenging themselves through Auburn High School’s Advanced Placement courses, Project Lead the Way Engineering and Biomedical Sciences coursework, and dual enrollment opportunities through Cayuga Community College.
 
In addition to their academic prowess, eight of these students have played at least one varsity sport throughout high school. The other two are involved in serious dance competition in a local dance company that requires the same time commitment that the varsity athletes make in their respective sports. Among the students in the Top Ten of the Class of 2019, four of them are the captains of their varsity athletic teams, one is the Senior Class President, four of them are board members of the Auburn High School Student Government Organization, and one of them is the President of our local chapter of the National Honor Society. One member of the Top Ten is one of the most accomplished musicians ever to attend Auburn High School, and another is one of the most talented artists we have ever had. While these students are clearly leaders in the classroom, it is quite evident that they are gifted in so many other facets of life as well.
 
To show appreciation for the students’ dedication to their education, several local organizations and businesses provided them with generous gifts including the Auburn High School Student Government Organization, the Auburn Administrators’ Association, Mesa Grande Taqueria, Taco Bell, Walmart, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Wegmans.
 
The members of Auburn High School’s Top Ten in the Class of 2019 are Matthew Bergan, Reilly Graney, William Liccion, Jacob Lupo, Zachary Moore, Olivia Morgan, Ashley Reilly, Gabrielle Wagner, Hailey Wilkinson, and Meghan Wiseman. Congratulations to these students and their families!
